Econogard involved with CUHTec and T-Cubed Trials
We have been invited to have some of Econogards products trialled by CUHTec and T-Cubed.
The Centre for Usable Home Technology (CUHTec) conducts world-class interdisciplinary research to understand what people want from the technology in their homes and offers leading edge training, consultancy and events. They evaluate and test new products ‘in situ’ through homes in housing associations and care groups.
T-Cubed is a company which tests the reliability of any new electrical product by putting it through rigorous testing procedures and providing a full report to the manufacturer and/or distributor.
We currently have two products on trial and are looking forward to favourable results, these are STT Condigi’s Cooker Guard and Bed-Ex proximity Bed Occupancy Monitor, which is integrated to Alert-iT’s bed side Monitor and Pager.
The Cooker Guard is a product which responds to excessive temperature and time. The Cooker Guard automatically turns off the cooker if the hob becomes too hot or when the cooker has been left on too long without being attended to.
The Bed-Ex Bed Occupancy Monitor Sheet is made from Tyvek and has a circuit printed on its surface; this works by detecting the proximity of the patient rather than their weight. It is therefore an early warning product rather than one that lets you know the fall has already occurred - ideal in a hospital environment where the patients are often elderly and weakened by their illness and therefore prone to falling.
High dependency Heart Centre at the hospital had to turn away patients due to the lack of a working Nurse Call System and the pressure was on for the facilities management company to find a solution.
